On Monday, the Rutgers University Police Department (RUPD) was informed by a member of the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity of a vandalism incident that occurred outside the organization's house, according to NJ Advance Media.

Three broken eggs were found on the sidewalk outside an entrance to the organization's house on Sicard Street. The incident is presumed to have occurred either Sunday or Monday, with the latter being the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah.

The fraternity was the target of similar vandalism in April 2021, when individuals threw eggs at the organization's house during a 24-hour reading of the names of Holocaust victims for Yom HaShoah, or Holocaust Remembrance Day.

On Twitter, Gov. Phil Murphy (D-N.J.) condemned Monday's incident and said he would stand against antisemitism in New Jersey. Dory Devlin, a University spokesperson, shared a similar statement on behalf of Rutgers, according to the article from NJ Advance Media.

"Neither hatred nor bigotry has a place at Rutgers, nor should they have a place anywhere in the world,” she said.
