A reading room dedicated to the memory of Cheryl Wall, the late Board of Governors Zora Neale Hurston Professor of English, will have its ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 28, according to an article by Rutgers Today.

Wall, a premier expert on Black feminist literature and criticism, died on April 4, 2020. The new Dr. Cheryl A. Wall Reading Room, located in the Paul Robeson Cultural Center on Busch campus, will include books from Wall's personal collection. The works were donated by her daughter, Camara Epps.

In addition to being a student space, the room will also be used to hold lectures and readings, according to the article. The area will be decorated with framed quotes by Wall and art installations.

“I think (Wall) would be so happy that there is a space for students to go where they could learn more about, not even so much her work, but the work of other African American authors in the hope that it will foster some inspiration and encourage them to want to become writers as well or pursue whatever they are passionate about," Epps said.
