Jean Baum announced as Vice Provost of Life Sciences Research and Partnerships

Jean Baum, a distinguished professor in the Department of Chemistry, will now serve as Vice Provost of Life Sciences Research and Partnerships, according to a University-wide email.

Francine Conway, chancellor-provost of Rutgers—New Brunswick, announced yesterday that Baum would transition to her new role after previously serving as special advisor to the Office of the Chancellor-Provost since the fall.

She will work alongside Denise Hien, Vice Provost for Research, to further advance the University’s Academic Master Plan, according to the email.

Baum has been a prominent researcher throughout her career since joining the University as a Henry Rutgers Research Fellow in 1988. She has been a distinguished professor since 2010 and also works in graduate programs in molecular biosciences.
