Street parking prices in New Brunswick to go up for first time in nearly 8 years

Last month, the New Brunswick City Council voted on an increase in metered parking prices that will go into effect on July 1.
The current price for street-metered parking is $1.50 for the first 2 hours and then $2 for the 3rd hour. The price then goes up $1 for each subsequent hour.
The council voted to pass ordinance 052302, which raises the price to park on New Brunswick streets to $2 for the first 2 hours and then $1 more for every subsequent hour.
This city-wide price change includes parking meters near the College Avenue campus. Metered parking in New Brunswick was last increased by the council to the current price in 2015.
