When I was applying to colleges, my main priority was getting into a college with a prestigious name. I wanted to be able to point to something concrete as a way to validate my hard work. Every Rutgers student expects a surplus of traffic and packed buses on the way to class during the first week of classes. In a past opinion, I talked about the importance of validating people with mixed identities, whether they be biracial or bi-ethnic. For context, I am bi-ethnic.
